Widdicombe & Walsh

Last week at work I was lucky enough to work a shift for two amazing comedians - Josh Widdicombe and Seann Walsh. They were both touring their set ready for their DVD recording at the Hammersmith Apollo, London in the coming week. I honestly cried laughing, they were both simply hilarious! After finishing my shift, I was lucky enough to grab them both for a quick picture before they raced off to catch their train back to London. Two very lovely, side-splittingly funny guys

Song Of The Month | August

August had been a big month for albums and so it's just a song of the month from me as I've been listening to so many different albums over the past month, it was just impossible to pick a single favourite!

Song Of The Month

You know that feeling that the radio is singing your thoughts? That's exactly what happened with this song. I was sat in a train station car park in Penzance while on holiday in Cornwall last month watching the sea in the distance and generally thinking about a couple of things when Huw Stephens of BBC Radio 1 introduced this song. It was Hollow Home Rd by Brolly. I had never heard of the band prior to this, nor had I heard the song - I believe it to be their first major radio play - But wow did this song speak out to me. Brolly are a very under the radar band and stem from a childhood friendship. Together they have created a stunning track and right from the first couple of guitar notes it had me tuned in. Harmonious vocals of the bands lead vocalist Jake Ithurburn sing over the simple notes promoting his creative and inspiring lyrics. It's a song that you can get deeply emotionally attached to. So if you're ever feeling down about anything, if you're having a few struggles or just generally feel like listening to a relaxing song, give Hollow Home Rd a listen and I guarantee you'll fall in love with it. It's been my go to song throughout the past month when in these types of situations which it's why it's worthy of the title as my song of the month. Click HERE to take a listen!

Face Of The Day (FOTD)

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you've all had a brilliant weekend and that the week doesn't treat you too badly.  I'm currently on holiday in Cornwall and so today, I thought I'd share with you my FOTD, this is an extended version of what a normally wear on a daily basis, as I sometimes wear a little less than this. All of these product can be found online or in UK Drugstores. Each product (except for two) have links allowing you to go straight to the website where you can purchase the product from and I've also put the shade of product I use in brackets. I have slightly tanned skin at the moment due to catching some rays and these shades work perfectly for me, so you can have some sort of comparison. So here we go!

Prior to applying my make-up I cleanse and moisturise my skin, then I get straight into it applying products in this order...

1. Boots 17 Photo Flawless Skin Primer - This is the first primer I have ever tried and tested and I really like it. It makes your skin feel silky smooth and although it's a small tube, it has honestly lasted me a good 3 to 4 months, it's a wonder product!

2. Natural Collection Tinted Moisturiser (Fair) - Due to having freckles, this is the best product I can find for my skin. Foundation, even of the lightest of coverage,  is just to heavy for me and makes my skin look awful. But his product leaves my skin feeling smooth and looking natural, whilst covering all imperfections. And all at a very affordable price!

3. MUA Eyeshadow Pallet Heaven & Earth - This is a brilliant little eyeshadow pallet and it's small enough to fit into make-up bags and handbags. I love natural eyeshadow colours and with a mixture or matt and shimmers, it's perfect to create any kind of look. I tend to use the second colour in on the top row (from the right) as an overall base and then the fifth colour in on the top row (from the right) in my outer corners.

4. Soap and Glory Thick & Fast Mascara (Black) - On the top lashes I use this mascara and it gives you lovely long and full lashes without them clumping together. It's really easy to apply and remove and very good for it's price. I also love the packaging!

5. Natural Collection WaterGuard Mascara (Black) - Along the bottom lashes I use this product, purely because I find it a little bit easier to use on the lower lashes than the Soap and Glory Mascara. I'll very often use this mascara on the top lashes when I'm having a more relaxed day.

6. Barry M Kohl Eye Pencil (Black) - I love this eyeliner, it goes perfectly on the top waterline to make your lashes appear even longer and more defined. I also apply it to my bottom waterline, however I do find that sometimes it does smudge a little, but that's nothing a little concealer can't fix!

7. Natural Collection Liquid Eye Liner (Black) - This isn't a product I always wear, but I thought I should include it. I'm not too great when it comes to top eye liner, as I've said in my Liebster Award post, but when I do wear it, I want it to look good and last long. And this product does the trick, it doesn't smudge at all and thanks to the tiny little brush, application isn't too difficult either! However, it does take a few strokes to create a thicker line (it really is that small!)

8. Collection 200 Lasting Perfection Concealer (Light) - After finishing my eyes, I apply this concealer and just like any beauty blogger will tell you, this is the best concealer out there! It covers blemishes and dark circles instantly, is really easy to apply with the dough-foot applicator and for the price, it's fantastic, defiantly worth a purchase if you don't own it already.

9. Smoky Eyeshadows by H&M - The forth colour in from the left on this palette is a matt brown. I use this colour to fill in my eyebrows to give them more definition. The colour is probably a little too dark for me, but I like the effect it gives on my brows. There are also four shimmers within this palette which look great as either a flat colour or used with other nude/brown matt eyeshadows to create a beautiful smoky eye.

10. Natural Collection Pressed Powder (Warm) - Another Natural Collection product that does it's job perfectly. It reduces shine and leaves my skin looking great. And as for the price, well, you can't go wrong really can you?!

11. Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks (Rosey Glow) - This colour is beautiful and gives your cheeks a nice pink glow that looks natural rather than too heavy. The packaging is great on this product too, it's nice and small meaning it can fit into even the tiniest of bags for a touch ups and the product is long lasting too!

12. Collection 2000 Volume Sensation Lipstick ( 13 - Satin Bow) - Strong powerful lipsticks, like bright pinks, oranges and reds just don't suit me. So when I wear a lipstick, it has to be a nude colour and this is perfect. I'd describe the colour as a pale pink and it feels more like a lip butter than a lipstick when applied but looks beautiful on.

13. Natural Collection Tinted Lip Balm (Lychee Twist) - This is another great product from Natural Collection, I either wear it on top of the Collection 2000 Lipstick or on its own. It's a brilliant consistency and doesn't leave your lips looking or feeling too sticky. It's a very light nude and comes out the tube ear, but does give your lips a nice tint along with a moistuisting feel.

And that's it, my FOTD! I hope you enjoyed this post and found it interesting. What are your most favored products? If you have any products that you'd like recommend, please leave a comment below as I'd love to try our some new things!

Day Trip | London

Last weekend I took a day trip to London with family. There was no special reason for going, it was just because we wanted to. And what a great day it was, so much so that I wanted to share it all on here with you...

I was up at 4am in order to get ready and be at the train station for 5.30am after picking up family. (I know, early right?!) It was a lovely morning, there's something beautiful about being awake to see the sunrise.

Early morning train to the greatest city in the world...

Starbucks on the train to wake me up!
We arrived at St Pancras station at around 7.30am and it honestly felt like we had the whole of London to ourselves. Everyone was still in bed and the streets were so quiet, it was strange to see London so relaxed!

We spent the whole day on foot, no underground tubs, no trains, no buses. We walked everywhere. I've always said I wanted to walk around London, purely because I feel you miss so much by taking the underground and after all London is a beautiful city, so why not enjoy every last bit of it? (Even if it does severely tire you out, my feet were killing me!!)

London's most famous Buckingham Palace looking very quiet at 9am
Doing so much walking though does mean that you don't get to cover as much of London as you may want to. For example, we didn't get to see the Olympic Stadium, The Shard, St.Pauls Cathedral, Big Ben, The London Eye - although most of these I have seen before.

The one place I most enjoyed visting was the BBC Broadcasting House. For those that don't know, this is where they research and film BBC News and BBC Weather along with were the new BBC Radio 1 and Radio 1xtra studios are. You are allowed to enter the Broadcasting House Cafe after having a security check and this allows you to overlook the reseachers and the studios where the News and the weather are filmed. Being a media lover and one day hoping to work the BBC, this was a great experience for me! If you're ever in London, I seriously recommend you take a look in. They also do daily tours of the studios allowing you to see behind the scenes, these are pre-booked, so this is something that will be scheduled in for the next London trip in September!

BBC Broadcasting House

Views of BBC News and Weather studios

Although all too soon it was time to head back to St Pancras to catch the train home. I was sad to leave London, after not visiting there for what seems like forever, I really enjoyed it and it's made me realise just how much I love the city. With all the excitement of the Royal Baby, Prince George, it was brilliant to see so many people from different countries getting so excited about being in London. I think I was just has happy to be there as them and I live in the UK!

St Pancas Station

And that's it, my day in London all wrapped up into one, I hopefully blog about my September trip to London too, which I am very excited about!

Have you visited London? What do love most about it? Let me know in the comments!

Song/Album Of The Month | July

It's that time again! It's time for me to share with you the music I have been loving throughout the month of July...

Song Of The Month

That's right, the single I've most loved throughout this month is John Newman's Love Me Again from his soon to be released album, which is yet to be given a title. I'm not the only one who thinks this song is stunning, as it previously hit the top spot in the charts and still remains in the top ten. John is the incredible voice in Rudimental's hit single 'Feel the Love' and making a name for yourself as a solo artist can be a difficult task anyway, but even harder after featuring on someone else's track and being fingertips away from the stardom you want to reach. But Newman has well and truly established himself in the music industry with this beauty of a track! His soulful tones fit perfectly over deep piano thuds to make the most incredible northern soul throwback. Although it may have already done it's time at the top of the chart, I still believe it be to be a brilliant summer track that everyone will want blaring out of their car stereo's. If you are yet to hear this single, then take a listen here!

Album Of The Month

Guess who's become all patriotic? Yep, me! Having it been a year since the UK proved itself as being so great with the Jubilee, the Olympics and the Paralympics, what better way to celebrate that than to turn back time and enjoy the incredible album created by Gary Barlow and The Commonwealth Band 'Sing'. The album was originally created just for the Queens Diamond Jubilee, but it's fair to say it was an album enjoyed by the whole nation throughout the whole of the summer. The single 'Sing' became a huge hit, as did the album, with them both reaching the top spot in the charts at the same time. Gary took months out of his busy schedule to create 'Sing' and traveled all over the Commonwealth collecting thousands of voices and notes from homemade musical instruments either on his Mac or his iPhone and created a stunning song which made the whole country smile. Just listening to this makes me realise how amazing last summer was and that I am proud to be British...

Liebster Award | I've been nominated!

I've been nominated for the Liebster Award! A huge thank you goes to Hannah from Random Brilliance With Me for my nomination, I really appreciate it! She has a fantastic blog and its one defiantly worth checking out!

The purpose of the Liebster Award is to give recognition to those new to the blogging world who have less than 200 followers, just like myself!

The rules for this award are as follows:
1. Answer the 11 questions that were asked by the blogger than nominated you and then share 11 random facts about yourself
2. Choose 5 bloggers with under 200 followers to pass the award on to
3. Create 11 questions for them to answer on their blog
4. Visit their blog and tell them about their nomination!

My answers to the questions Hannah asked to her nominees:

1.  If you could have one super power for the day what would it be?
I love sight seeing and visiting new and interesting places, so I think being able to fly would be the perfect one for me!
2.  Do you prefer cats or dogs?
Hmm, I'm a bit picky with dogs and don't always trust them so I'd have to say I prefer cats
3.  If you could have any job in the world what would you be?
My ultimate dream job would to be either a set or lighting designer for an artist/band on tour. The idea of live music, travelling, being creative, having fun, working with different people and doing all the things I love just sounds amazing! You never know, one day I might get there...
4.  What is your all-time favourite movie?
Ahh this is a difficult one! I'm a bit of a big kid and love animated films, so some of my favourites include Toy Story, Despicable Me, Monsters Inc, Cars, Finding Nemo, Up, Wall-E etc. But I'm also a lover of movies such as The Notebook, 17 Again, Iron Man, Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging, Aquamarine, the list goes on and on and on...
5.  Which is your favourite Disney character and why?
Another difficult one... I'd have to say Tigger, I've always loved him. I think he's just so adorable! (I even cried when I met him in Disney Land when I was younger)
6.  What do you have the most trouble with during makeup application? Eyeliner, brows, eye shadow, etc.?
Top eyeliner, no matter how hard I try I can never get a straight line, which is why most of the time I don't bother
7.  What is your favourite physical feature of yourself?
I'd have to say my eyes, some days they look blue, others they look green, I've even had a hint of yellow in them before! I love using eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner to make my eyes look pretty too
8.  What is your biggest fear?
This is probably very deep, but my biggest fear is death. I appreciate eveything in this world, I'm so grateful to be alive, well and loving life, that I just don't ever want it to end. Also the  thought of not knowing how or when I will die, really scares me...
9.  What is your favourite inspirational quote?
'You are an immovable force with magic at your finger tips, it's now your choice how you use that magic... if you're reading this and thinking... 'but it's only me and I'm not big enough or good enough to achieve' then that's exactly what you'll get.. live in the light or live in the dark... you choose' - Robbie Williams
10. If your house was on fire and you could save 3 items what would they be?
Assuming that family and pets don't count as 'items'...
- My mobile phone
- My first teddy bear that I had when I was a baby
- My box of Take That/Robbie Williams memorabilia
11. What is your favourite type of weather and why?
When it's sunny and warm, because it makes everyone happy especially when it comes to the UK! Plus it's a chance to get a tan ;)

11 random facts about me:
1. I live in the UK and unlike most people, I actually love it here.
2. My favourite colour is purple, yet recently I'v become a bit of a pink lover.
3. London is my favourite city and one day hope to live there.
4. I'd describe my style as 'stylish yet comfortable'.
5. My favourite band are Take That and Gary Barlow is my favourite member.
6. I hope to gain an apprenticeship with either the BBC or ITV and hopefully pursue a career in the field of TV/Radio Production. If not I hope to do theatre production.
7. My family are the most important people in my life, I love them all so much and honestly don't know where I would be without them. I am extremely grateful to have such a tight knit family.
8. I started this blog as something to help keep my creative ideas flowing, to share things with new and interesting people and as something for me to enjoy. So far, I'm loving it!
9. My favourite food is Pasta, it goes with everything!
10. I hate the sound of polystyrene being put into a plastic bag.
11. Photography/Media/Radio/TV/Music/Concerts/Theatre - Yep, they're all my kind of thing!

Who do I nominate for the Liebster Award?
Sinead from Sinead Dreaming Again
Tanyia from Tanyia Talks
Hannah from Northern Hurricane
Laura from LouLouBella

My questions to you are:
1. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
2. How long have you been blogging?
3. How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
4. Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
5. What do you enjoy most about your morning/make-up routine and why?
6. Do you have a moto in life that you try to live by?
7. Who is your celebrity crush?
8. Do you have any hobbies? What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
9. What's your pet peeve?
10. What languages do you speak?
11. What do you love most about blogging/your blog?

Good luck to the people I've nominated in answering the questions, you deserve to get all the followers in the world!
Once again, thankyou to Hannah Random Brilliance With Me for nominating me!

Song/Album Of The Month | June

This is a new segment I have created called 'Song/Album Of The Month' where at the start of every month I will post my favourite song (old or recent/in the charts) and album (old or recent/in the charts) for the previous month. I'm a huge music fan and love all kinds of genres and as musical posts have been some of my most popular, I thought I'd give it a whirl! So here we go....

Song Of The Month

As a previous blog post has suggested (which you can check out here, where I discussed his incredible new album Momentum) I'm a huge Jamie Cullum fan. I love his jazz/pop style along with his unique voice and piano playing skills. His cover of Rihanna's Don't Stop The Music has to be my favourite song for the past month, purely because I cannot stop listening to it! It comes from Jamie's album The Pursuit, released in 2009 and features many other incredible songs. Jamie's version of Don't Stop The Music features heavy beats along with his soulful voice and magical piano notes. It's one of those songs where if your stuck with what song to listen to, you can put this on and you know you'll enjoy it. He makes the lyrics far more meaningful, which is why personally, I prefer it to the original and recommend it as a song you should defiantly have a listen to!

Album Of The Month

Mark Owen's new album, The Art Of Doing Nothing is also something I have previously blogged about (take a look here). It's his first solo album to released since his How The Mighty Fall (released in 2005) and is completely worthy of a place as my favourite album of June. Mark Owen is know to be part of one of the best bands to come out of the UK, Take That, with which he was one many Brits, Ivor Novello's and numerous other achievement awards. The Art Of Doing Nothing is an album I've had on repeat and it's one you can never get bored of. You could chose to leave listening to this album for days, weeks or even months and as soon as the first song is played, you'd fall instantly back in love with it; it's that perfect! My favourite song from the album is Heavens Falling, I knew even from just hearing the previews that it would be my favourite and its fair to say the full version is even better! The overall album is a mix of bass/techno beats, echos, rapping (not from Owen) along with Marks amazing vocals both whereby he  hits both the high and low notes with ease. It's pure simplistic perfectness.

And that concludes my Song/Album Of The Month for June! I hope this has encouraged you to give some new music a listen or to even turn back time and listen to a song you'd completely forgotten about. What's was your favourite song/album for last month? Comment below, I'd love some recommendations!

I've been gone for way too long...

I would firstly like to apologise to anyone that has been following this blog, as I haven't posted anything in a very very long time! I set myself the challenge of starting this blog and completing Sprinkle Of Glitter's 30 Day Snap and I didn't do it, and for that I am extremely annoyed at myself and very sorry to you, the reader.

I just haven't been feeling myself over the past few weeks, and I'm not quite sure why... I've just been really struggling with the momentum to do anything, I've been feeling really down all the time, but when I have needed to I've picked myself up. I'm not normally one to be down in the dumps, I see myself as quite a happy, jolly person (yes, I have my off days and moments when I'm angry or upset... but don't we all?!). I'm a life lover, no matter what happens, but recently that's just not been the case.

So I thought that I needed to get all this out of my system and there is no better place than here. I'm not bothered if nobody reads this or even thinks that I'm just being silly, but as I'm writing this, I'm slowly starting to feel better about everything. Which for me, is a good thing.

I need to run this blog as a motivation for me, as something to keep my creative ideas following and to keep myself happy. I have some very interesting things happening throughout this month and I hope to post many of them on here!

I promise to do better

30 Day Snap #17 | Woaahhhh It's So Bright!

I recently picked up this amazing new nail varnish from the 'Kelly Brook' range in New Look. It's called 'Neon Boom' and it's a bright neon orange. Sadly the lighting in this picture makes it look pink and doesn't do it any justice, but it is honestly the brightest, summery colour ever! A classic Kelly Brook style. I love it and can't wait to buy more from this range!

30 Day Snap #16 | Happy Fathers Day!

Whether it's Fathers Day, Birthday or Christmas, my Dad is very difficult to buy for. But there is one thing that he loves and that's chocolate. So when my sister found one of these online, we knew we had to make one of our own for him. We got out creative heads together and this is what we came up with! He wants a new DSLR, but as it's his birthday is next month, he'll just have to wait till then. However, he's now  got it in writing now, so he won't let us forget! Overall he was very impressed and absolutely loved it. My sisters rabbit, Lola, even managed to feature in this too!

What did you get your dad anything special today?

30 Day Snap #15 | Morning Relaxation

Why rush around to do things on a Saturday morning when you can relax and enjoy the smell of beautiful candles. I have become a bit of a candle lover recently and one of my favourites is this Fairy Dust Candle By Lily-Flame. The best and only way I can come to describe it is that I has a slightly soapy smell? But even then I'm not sure. It's a lovely smelling candle anyway and defiantly one I'd recommend if you're a candle lover. The company also do many other candles, which all smell great too!

30 Day Snap #14 | Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head...

One minute it's bright sunshine and the next it looks like this! Where has our summer gone?! I think the rain is the way to sum up today so far, so when the sky decided to give us the next dose of the wet stuff along with a few scary rumbles of thunder, I quickly grabbed my camera and sat on the front doorstep snapping away and managed to get these two shots...

30 Day Snap #13 | Back To Work

Is there a record for the fastest ever written blog post? Well if there is, I've just broken it! After having a busy day I'm back off to work tonight. After having several weeks off, I'm actually looking forward to going back, I've missed watching shows every night...

30 Day Snap #12 | 'Sugar-and-spice...? And all things nice'

I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to reading plays and watching theatre shows, I just love it. (I'm lucky enough to have it as part of my job!) Today I picked up a copy of My Mother Said I Never Should by Charlotte Keatley. I've heard a lot about this play from friends and I understand its about four young girls from different generations that come up with a plan to kill their mothers. The title of this posts is one of the opening lines from the play. It seems very mysterious and intriguing and can't wait to give it a read tonight whilst snuggled up in bead with a lovely cuppa!

30 Day Snap #11 | The Art of Doing Nothing

Today my ears were greeted by one of the most amazing sounding albums in the whole world! Mark Owen has always been an huge idol of mine, I love all his previous albums and having had The Art of Doing Nothing on pre-order for a very long time, I'm so happy to finally be able to listen to it in full (after listening to the iTunes previews for weeks on end!!). I'm honestly blown away by the pure brilliance of this album and it's been on repeat ever since it landed on my doorstep this morning. Well done Markie, I love you!

30 Day Snap #10 | Getting Ready For Summer

It's all about getting that summer body! And so today I turned to gradual tanning. Garnier Summer Body is my go-to product when it comes to tanning as I'm no good when it goes to fake tan. It's such a reliable product, you can control how much you want, where you want it and overall I think its far easier to apply than fake tan. My new skin care routine now features Nivea's 2 in 1 Cleanser and Toner. I'm loving this product so far, it makes your face feel silky smooth and removes any traces of make-up.

30 Day Snap #7 #8 #9 | Cardiff Weekend Away

Over the weekend I visited Cardiff for a bit of time away. I was unable to post days 7, 8 and 9 due to being away which is why I'm posting them now. So here we go...

On the Friday I visited Cardiff city centre and what a beautiful city it is. I had never been before and so was very excited to visit the Wales Millennium Centre which is pictured above on the left. On the right had side it reads 'In these stones horizons sing' and it reads the same on the left had side but in Welsh. One the right is a picture of me outside the church where writer Roald Dahl was christened featuring my OOTD - Black Bodycon Dress (New Look), Leather jacket (Bank), Scarf (Primark), Sandels (New Look), Bag (New Look) and Necklace (Dorothy Perkins). I loved this outift, it's perfect for a casual day out in the sun (but as you can see from the photograph, it was a little windy) and its so easy to style for a night out too!

Saturday was another beautiful, sunny day and it was spent in Barry Island (Where Gavin & Stacey was filmed). Here I had, as it says on the pot, the most delicious ice cream from Marco's Coffee & Ice Cream Bar - this was Stacey's workplace during Gavin & Stacey!
. I got the Toffee Fudge flavour with a cheeky flake on top too, it was lovely.

It was back to Cardiff for the final day. It was a sight seeing day where I visited Cardiff Stadium, the castle and of course the local shops. Whilst walking to the castle through on of the back streets I spotted this amazing graffiti, depending on what it is and how its designed, I'm not always a fan of graffiti, but I loved this purely on the basis that the skill and detail that had gone into this work was incredible!

I had such a lovely weekend away, it was so nice to get away from everything and spend time doing whatever I wanted to, it was so enjoyable.

30 Day Snap #6 | Packing, Packing and More Packing...

Tomorrow I'm off to Cardiff for three days and so today was a busy packing day. This weekend has been planned for a very long time and so you can imagine how happy I am that its finally come around! I honestly can't wait to get away for a while, enjoy seeing the sights and of course, do some well earnt relaxing in the spa and pool.

Being away though does mean that I wont be able to post 30 Day Snaps #7, #8 and #9. But I'll be sure to get lots of photographs and post them on the Monday along with #10!

30 Day Snap #5 | Andddd... relax

It's been a very busy and stressful day, so I took to relaxing with a cup of tea (yes that is Robbie Williams and Take That on my mug!), a messy chocolate muffin and one very cosy blanket. Bliss!

30 Day Snap #4 | 7 Ways

It was another day outside in the sun for me but today I was accompanied by Jamie Sheerman's voice and his guitar. I met Jamie at my workplace during Pantomime season where he played Stinky in Dick Whittington and this was before I knew how much of a good singer he was. He recently uploaded a new song to his YouTube Channel called '7 Ways' which is one of the many songs he has written himself. I love it, it's such a beautiful song and a perfect one to enjoy in the sunshine!

30 Day Snap #2 and #3 | Sunshine

Day 2 and 3 I have decided to combine and both were spent out enjoying the beautiful weather we're having at the moment but also admiring the stunning flowers that are out in full bloom. Just like the picture of these Dicentra (Bleeding Hearts) that I took, they have to be one of my favourite flowers, I love them.

30 Day Snap #1 | Home

After not blogging for a while, I thought I might take on the 30 Day Snap challenge to get me blogging every day this month! The 30 Day Snap challenge involves taking a picture and writing a short blog everyday of the month to sum of your day and to let others know what you're up to. Being pretty new at blogging, this is all new to me and something I haven't done before. But being a lover of photography and now blogging, I'm sure i'm going to enjoy this!

Today was simply a day at home for me and I have to be honest, it's one of my favourite places to be. It's where I'm able to relax and do whatever I want, it's my personal space and I love it. The weather was also beautiful, which was another bonus and what a way to start off June - I can't quite believe we're half way through the year already!

Jamie Cullum releases his inner Momentum

After buying this album yesterday after its long awaited release, I've had it on constant repeat! Jamie Cullum's brand new album, Momentum, is one of those album that it is impossible to not love or to ever stop listening to.

Jamie is an English, jazz/pop singer and songwriter and has had five previous albums and burst into the music industry after the release of 'Twentysomething' in 2003. He is probably most well known for the stunning 'High & Dry'. His unique talent and sound have led him to win several awards for his successes. Jamie is also a multi-instrumentalist, so when combined with his ability to sing, write and produce music, this takes his talents to another level!

Cullum signed up with Island Records for this album and it has been said to be "brimful of powerful songs" and I can't fail to agree! Jamie went back to basics to create Momentum and used home demos, iPhone apps, charity shop keyboards and cassette records to build up the basic shell of this brilliant album. It's a true combination of beautiful jazzy sounds and pop-y beats, as well as Jamie's rustic voice and it can't fail but to be a hit. The album features twelve songs, including the lead single 'Everything You Didn't Do' and a captivating cover of 'Pure Imagination'. There is also a deluxe version available, which includes three extra tracks as well as several live versions of songs from the album, recorded at London's famous Abbey Road Studios.

12. You're Not the Only One

DELUXE EDITION BONUS TRACKS

16. Everything You Didn't Do (Live at Abbey Road)
17. Sad, Sad World (Live at Abbey Road)
18. Love For $ale (Live at Abbey Road)
19. Pure Imagination (Live at Abbey Road)
20. You're Not the Only One (Live at Abbey Road)
21. Save Your Soul (Live at Abbey Road)

Regarding my favourite track from this album, it would have to be either, Everything You Didn't Do, Save Your Soul, Anyway, When I Get Famous or You're Not the Only One. But as you can probably tell, there is no clear winner regarding a favourite on this album because every time you think you've found it, the next song will play and all of a sudden, that's your favourite! It's a vicious circle of incredible songs.

I have a true love for Jamie Cullum and his music and I hope to one day see him live. If you haven't heard any of his previous music, then I highly recommend that you do, along with this album! Also check out Jamie on various social networking sites - Jamiecullum.comTwitterFacebookYouTube.
